Welcome to Paleochora at the rooms and apartments of Anonymous Homestay!
Anonymous Homestay

Anonymous Homestay is situated near the center of Paleochora in a quiet side street, just 200m from the sandy beach. It is a longtime family-style pension which was built out of stone in 1950. My family had been living there until 1987.
In 2004 the house was renovated for the second time. There are seven self sufficient rooms and two apartments with private bathrooms and cooking facilities.
The rooms are within two buildings which surround a beautiful  quiet garden in the middle space.
Four of the rooms are equipped by a double and a single bed with enough space to add another single bed, if needed.
New toilets, ceiling fans, refrigerators and cooking facilities have been added.

Since 1987 Anonymous Homestay has been a main destination for travellers from all over the world, with references from various travel-guides, such as:

Crete - Paleochora

The island of Crete, the south point of Europe, gave birth to the first European Civilization during the Minoan Empire from 2600 to 1000 BC.

Paleochora, in the province of Hania (Chania, Xania) is inhabited by about 2000 people and is situated on the Lybian Sea on the European frontier. Paleochora from the mountains

The climate is mediterranian, the temperature between 15-30 degrees Celsius in average, with more than 330 sunny days a year.

A great number of different beaches
(the big sandy beach on one side, the pebble beach on the other, and lots of different little bays) most of them safe or even ideal for children, make Paleochora a visitors paradise.

There are 10 archeological sites in or close to Paleochora, a big number of Byzantine Churches and a venetian castle.

Paleochora is not just a tourist spot but a typical cretan village that has grown together with its friends and visitors.

There are many daily bus-connections to the north and at the same time daily boats to the island of Elafonisos, the island of Gavdos and southern crete destinations such as Sougia, Agia Roumeli (Samaria Gorge), Loutro and Sfakia.

Paleochora has all necessary facilities, such as banks, post office, telephone office, doctors, dentists, pharmacies, police station, car and bike rentals, internet cafe etc.
